“I am a painter, an illustrator, an art director, an architect, and also a bit of an engineer. For twenty years, I have been working with book and magazine publishers, I design textiles and furniture, paintings and comics, jewels and graffiti. In 1999, I also started exhibiting my jewels and re-interpretations and combinations of ancient jewels at antiques shows.” So wrote Dana Camerini, art director for Mondadori from 1980 to 1983, illustrator for several magazines until 1989, creative consultant for Happy Books from 1993 to 1999 in charge of redesigning and launching books for children to be co-published in Italy and worldwide. “My drawing have been used for magazines, books, textiles, greeting cards and school books, posters and games by Arnoldo Mondadori, Rizzoli, Domus, Giorgio Mondadori, GruppoUniverso, San Paolo Editore, La Nuova Italia, De Agostini, Naj Oleari, Regione Lombardia, Oxford University Press, Gruner und Jahre, Random House and others...”. What is Dana Camerini going to exhibit at Piazza dei Mercanti? “Miniature jewels, which is my basic production. The evolution goes hand in hand with my research, which is more oriented to the construction of costume jewellery in the art deco period. In line with this approach, I shall present a collection of jewels by Jacob Bengel, which manufactured jewels for only few (10) years in the 1930’s using designs by Bauhaus artists, and in 2000 became a museum located in the historical factory site that was shut down in 1992 after 150 years of operations. |
||||||
| Another area of research and offering is art Deco jewels and small furniture decorations in aluminium which were manufactured in the 1940’s in small series by prestigious brands in America.” |

| Duemme: watches by the most prestigious brands From classical vintage items to the most sophisticated modern pieces, but also jewellery and precious stones |

Duemme was set up in 1999 as a young and dynamic company thanks to the 30-year experience of its founding father and sole director, Mr. Maurizio Bosio. Born in a family of watchmakers (his father Gianfranco Bosio and great uncle Amedeo Leorati), at the age of 14 he started to disassemble his first watches in his father’s laboratory. The company’s core business is wristwatches, ranging from classical vintage to highly sophisticated modern pieces of the most prestigious brands such as "Audemars Piguet, Baume&Mercier, Breguet, Breitling, Cartier, Daniel Roth, Franck Muller, Grahm. Jaeger LeCultre, IWC, Longines, Omega, Panerai, Patek Philippe, Roger DuBuis, Rolex, Tudor, Varcheron Constantin, Zenith", but at the same time it also keeps an eye on the magnificent world of jewellery and precious stones. The main goal of Duemme is to be as close as possible to its customers and meet their requirements. This is why the company opted for an “Internet shop window” instead of a traditional one. --> to be continued |
