Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni: over 5,500 visitors
30% of professional operators came from abroad
immagine A total of 5,536 professionals, of which 30% from abroad, visited Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni, which closes today.

“The result is very satisfying given the particular economic situation affecting all production sectors,” said Fiera Milano Expocts Managing Director Corrado Peraboni.
“Closing data shows that the number of visitors has basically remained stable compared to the last edition. Another positive note is that exhibitors are generally satisfied with the outcome.”

Once again, the fashion show program has proven to be an element of added value for the event and has brought many Italian and foreign buyers visiting the Milan show for the very first time. This was a real boost for exhibitors. The quality of the collections on display was very high, especially the collections entirely produced in Italy.

“We must focus on Italian-made quality because I’m convinced that we can overcome the crisis only through high-end Italian-made products,” added Fiera Milano Managing Director Enrico Pazzali. “Events like ours can be a valid tool for Italian companies.
Elegance, exclusivity, and design:
Milan is the capital city for brides
Buyers voice their appreciation and liking. A unique opportunity
to capture the latest trends and monitor the market evolution
immagine Investing in order to react to the present crisis, keeping an eye on the market in order to capture the so much hoped recovery that is now starting to loom ahead. This is the way the most forward-looking entrepreneurs think. And, in this respect, a reassuring signal comes from Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni. In addition to professional visitors coming from all over the world, there were official delegations sent by Fiera Milano Expocts in cooperation with Ice (the Italian Foreign Trade Agency) from Japan, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, the US, Syria, Russia, and the United Kingdom.
“For nine years, we have been importing Italian products and this is the tenth time I have been visiting Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni – said Miss Brenda Ng Wing Sze, The Wedding Shop Ltd. (Hong Kong)
In Hong Kong, brides buy more than one dress for their wedding. In addition to the wedding dress, they usually buy also 3 to 4 evening dresses for their wedding parties. Therefore, they need different styles and want to be glamorous like Hollywood stars. This is why I come to Milan every year. Sì Sposaitalia Collezioni is an important exhibition for the brides wear industry and it is also a good opportunity to meet emerging designers with new styles and to monitor the trends for the next year. It think that this is the most important exhibition worldwide.”
“The world economic crisis has undoubtedly undermined business in every sector – adds Renée Strauss (Renée Strauss for the Bride, USA) – from hospitality to catering, to wedding. The customers’ economic base is still strong although they have frozen their purchases for at least 6-12 months. However, looking ahead, we know that we shall have an economic recovery and sales will go up. For 28 years now, we have been running a salon in Beverly Hills and our customers come from all over the world: Singapore, the Middle East, Europe, South America, Canada. When customers come to our salon, they want something really special. They look for products that seem to have been bought by them somewhere around the world, when indeed we do that for them...”

The British love to say “I do” in Tuscany
It is the favorite foreign destination for wedding
among the citizens of Her Majesty the Queen
immagine Maybe because “Chiantishire” evokes the fabulous countryside of the Yorkshire county, maybe because of the peace and beauty that surround the lands of Tuscany, or – quite importantly – maybe because of the world famous food and wine tradition.

What is sure is that a great love story has been going on for a few years between the British and Tuscany. As a matter of fact, Her Majesty’s couples love to say “I do” in Tuscany.

In 2008, 850 British citizens selected this region as the location to celebrate their wedding.
